Jukebox Collective curated a series of performances highlighting Welsh creatives for Gŵyl 2021. These musicians are bringing a variety of new sounds and perspectives that are shaping youth culture in Wales. Directed by Liara Barussi the performances feature local artists Aleighcia Scott, Reuel Elijah, FAITH & KING KHAN.
Aleighcia Scott is a Cardiff born Welsh Jamaican reggae artist. She is set to release her debut album that she has been working on in both Jamaica and the UK (with the legendary producer Rory Stonelove who has recently featured on the latest Beyoncé/Jay Z project). She has won various awards such as Radio Cardiff’s Best Local Artist and is a double winner of the MMG award for ‘Best Reggae Act’, with performances under her belt from Glastonbury, BBC Introducing stages, international stages and releases alongside the legendary Peckings Records and more.
KINGKHAN is a Cardiff based rapper/producer bringing a fresh take to the current sphere of british rap. After self-releasing his debut album ‘Lovesongs & Melodrama’ in 2019, he made a name for himself in the South Wales music scene, getting slots at notable music festivals throughout Wales and the UK. His unique style of production blends detailed instrumentals with melodic hooks and lyrics that often span across different genres, whilst still holding his influences on his sleeve.
